Many people have never had the opportunity to be mentored by someone who has knowledge they are willing to pass on. I was very fortunate. Many many years ago I bought my first dog from Dave Templar who went on to set up Countryways Gundogs.

Two or 3 times a week I would meet Dave and he helped me train that first dog. He was my mentor then.  If I hadn't stumbled across Dave, I dare say my  'journey'  in Gundogs would be slightly different, if existent at all.

I understand the need for people to be mentored.

I understand this need better than most.

It is an unfortunate fact that many people feel the need to hold-on tight to what they have. I suppose the hope there is that:   they will then always be better than the rest?   I don't know.    I do not stand by that philosophy at all.

My concern is seeing the qualities of the dogs coming out.

Without the right MENTORSHIP and then subsequent application of training techniques, these qualities just cannot come out.

1. You may have a situation where you are new into training your Labrador Retriever.  Trying hard.  Doing what you know.   But, despite all your efforts,  the training just is not going "how it should".

1. And, ….You do  *not*  know  where  to turn to get the right advice.

1. You may want to buy a dog, but there are so many breeders out there claiming they have the dog you need.   An objective perspective may be all the help you need, so you can go forward and purchase the right dog for you.

1. You may already have experience in the field training your Labrador, but then something happens where the dog reacts to a situation, and you really do not know what to do. You really do not know  who  to turn to.

1. You may have always trained using the e-collar aka:   electric collar, otherwise known as the  E. collar.   You feel it is a training regime you would prefer to move away from, but you do not know where to start, or  how  to go forward without it.

1. For an organisation, or a commercialized shooting establishment,  the possible scenarios are multiplied.   You may need trainers and/or handlers mentored.   You may need a site visit.   You may feel the need to change directions but you are  uncomfortable  or  unsure  of how to go about it.   Whatever it is your organisation needs,  perhaps we can assist you.

The scenarios are endless aren't they.
